About LS Lucky Fishing

What started as one man’s frustration with unreliable gear has grown into a shop the whole local fishing community leans on.

A Skudai shop with saltwater in its veins

Ask anyone at LS Lucky Fishing why we do this, and you’ll get the same answer: we love being on the water, and we couldn’t stand watching good trips ruined by gear that let people down. That feeling is the reason the doors are open. It shapes what we stock, how we price it, and the way we talk to everyone who walks in.

We’re proudly rooted in Skudai, Johor — close enough to the coast to smell the tide and close enough to the rivers to know where the fish hold. That local grounding matters. When a customer asks about the run at Sungai Johor or the best weight for a windy day off Desaru, the person answering has probably fished it recently. We trade in real experience, not brochure lines.

Our standards are simple but strict. Gear has to earn its shelf space. We fish it, we soak it, we put it under load, and if it flinches, it’s gone. We’d rather carry a smaller range we believe in than a wall of products we can’t vouch for. The same goes for honesty at the counter — if a cheaper item does the job, that’s what we’ll point you to.

More than anything, we’re here for the community. Beginners who’ve never held a rod, seasoned kaki pancing chasing a personal best, parents wanting a simple weekend hobby for the kids — everyone gets the same welcome and the same straight help. Plenty of friendships have started over our tackle wall.

We’re still growing, still testing, still fishing. And every season we’re more determined to be the shop Johor’s anglers trust before they head to the water. Come say hello — the kettle’s usually on and the fishing talk is always free.

As a kayak angler I'm rough on my reels, but the baitcaster they matched me with hasn't skipped once. They actually asked how I fish before selling me anything.
